The dates for the Medaram Sri Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara 2026, widely regarded as Asia’s largest tribal festival and often referred to as the “Telangana Kumbh Mela,” have been officially announced. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday unveiled the official poster for the grand event.

The Maha Jatara will be held from January 28 to January 31, 2026, and will span four days of vibrant religious and cultural celebrations. Several ministers, including Konda Surekha, Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas, and Addanki Dayakar, were present at the poster launch ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders highlighted that the Medaram Jatara is a powerful symbol of Telangana’s spiritual and cultural heritage. Held once every two years, the festival attracts millions of devotees from across India and from abroad.

The Jatara is deeply rooted in tribal traditions and beliefs, with devotees offering prayers to the forest goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma with great devotion. It is one of the most significant gatherings of indigenous communities in the country.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured that the government would make comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe experience for devotees. Special focus will be placed on transportation, drinking water, medical facilities, and security. He added that the entire government machinery would work in close coordination to make Medaram Maha Jatara 2026 a memorable and well-organised event.
