MDMA worth Rs 1 crore seized in Rajasthan’s Nagaur, one held, accomplice on the run

Police in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district have seized nearly 1 kg of the synthetic drug MDMA valued at around Rs 1 crore and arrested one person during an anti-narcotics crackdown , officials said on Tuesday.

The action was carried out under “Operation Sankalp – Nasha Mukt Nagaur” , a district-wide campaign launched to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse. The raid was conducted by a joint team of Degana police station and the district special team following a specific intelligence input about drugs being stored in a village house.

Acting on the tip-off, police raided a house in Khudi Kalan village and recovered 979.02 grams of MDMA . The contraband had been concealed inside a bag of chillies , apparently to avoid suspicion and evade detection during transport, officials said.

The accused, identified as Shravanram Bishnoi (42) , was arrested and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act . Police said another suspect, Vineet Bishnoi of Merta Road , managed to evade arrest and is currently absconding .

Authorities have launched search operations to locate the second accused. Investigators are also examining the case to establish the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics supply chain , including the source of the drugs and their intended distribution network.

Officials said the seizure forms part of an intensified effort by district police to dismantle narcotics networks operating in the region and prevent the circulation of synthetic drugs among youth.

Further investigation is underway, police added.
