Mauritius President visits Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada

Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool, accompanied by his wife, visited Vijayawada on Monday morning and paid a visit to the renowned Kanaka Durga Temple atop Indrakeeladri Hill in Andhra Pradesh.

Upon arrival, the presidential couple was warmly welcomed by temple officials and senior government representatives. The chief priest performed a traditional “poornakumbham” ritual while chanting Vedic mantras to formally greet the guests.

After offering their prayers, the temple priests presented the President and his wife with blessings, sacred cloths, portraits of the deity, and prasadam. Officials noted that the visit would further strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties between Mauritius and India.

Following the Durga temple visit, President Gokhool traveled to Mangalgiri in Guntur district to seek blessings at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. The couple received another grand welcome from the temple priests, and the President expressed his delight at visiting two significant pilgrimage sites, noting that the experience brought him great peace and spiritual fulfillment.
