
Massive Fire at Mangala Gauri Saree Showroom in Jubilee Hills
A major fire accident occurred on Thursday afternoon at the Mangala Gauri Saree Showroom located on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Fire Department personnel rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information and brought the flames under control. Officials confirmed that no loss of life was reported.
According to Ajmeera Sridhas, District Fire Officer–2, heavy smoke spread up to the fourth floor of the building, but the situation was later completely controlled. He stated that the building was vacant at the time of the incident, averting a major mishap. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire .
Vallala Naveen Yadav, MLA of Jubilee Hills , said the showroom staff exited the premises immediately after the fire broke out, preventing injuries. He stated that around ten employees managed to come out safely.
Preliminary information from fire officials indicated that the flames did not spread extensively as there were limited combustible materials inside the showroom. However, the extent of property damage is yet to be assessed. Authorities have also initiated a review to examine compliance with fire safety norms .
In a separate recent incident, a fire broke out at a mobile phone shop in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony. A fire call was received at 6:23 a.m. , following which a fire engine reached the location and extinguished the flames. No casualties were reported in that case as well.
Amid a series of fire incidents in the city, officials have called for stricter implementation of fire safety regulations in commercial buildings. The Fire Department has emphasised preventive measures, particularly vigilance against hazards such as short circuits . Meanwhile, locals have criticised the management for installing a flagpole model in an open area , raising safety concerns.
