Massive expansion of MSME parks across Andhra Pradesh
In a major push to transform Andhra Pradesh into an industrial powerhouse, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched a large-scale expansion of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) parks on November 11.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the MSME park at Peda Eerlapadu village in Kanigiri constituency, Prakasam district, while also laying the foundation stones and inaugurating around 50 MSME parks across 17 districts, virtually.
This marks the second phase of the state’s MSME park development program. Of these, 15 parks covering 329 acres are already ready for industrial units to set up operations, while 35 new parks covering 587 acres were launched. The parks will be developed through both public and private partnerships and are expected to create around 12,000 direct and indirect jobs.
₹25,000 crore investments and 28 new industries
Alongside the MSME park expansion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 28 new companies representing an investment of over ₹25,696 crore. CM said the state government is implementing a “plug-and-play” model, ensuring ready access to electricity, water, and road infrastructure for industries to start operations smoothly.
The initiative focuses on high-growth sectors such as electronics, automotive, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and aerospace. “Our goal is to create one entrepreneur in every family,” CM said, highlighting the employment potential for local youth.
Technological vision for a future-ready Andhra Pradesh
Unveiling his technological vision for the state, CM said, “The future belongs to technology.”
He announced that Quantum Computing development will begin in Amaravati by January, enabling Andhra Pradesh to become a producer of quantum computers for the global market.
Other initiatives include:
• Drone City at Orvakal for civilian and defense applications.
• Green hydrogen and solar power generation projects for affordable renewable energy.
• Reliance biofuel plants across the state.
• Semiconductor manufacturing units coming soon.
CM also revealed that during the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit on November 14-15, the government is set to sign MoUs worth ₹10 lakh crore, potentially creating over 8 lakh jobs.
He added that the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub will nurture entrepreneurship across the state, with a special focus on developing 100,000 women entrepreneurs. “Ideas are the new assets,” he said, encouraging farmers to form Farmer Producer Organization (FPOs) and become agri-entrepreneurs.
The Chief Minister emphasized balanced regional growth, stating that Kurnool, Tirupati, and nearby regions will be developed as new industrial clusters. The state aims for 15% annual growth and a significant increase in per capita income.
Chandrababu also announced that Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is setting up a ₹1 lakh crore refinery near Ramayapatnam Port, reinforcing the goal of turning Andhra Pradesh into an East Coast logistics hub.
Special focus on backward regions
Chandrababu said his government is giving special attention to drought-prone and underdeveloped regions such as Kanigiri, Yerragondapalem, Giddalur, and Markapuram. He reiterated his commitment to completing the Veligonda project by 2026, ensuring water supply to these areas. “Kanigiri will soon turn into Kanakapattnam,” he said, symbolizing its coming prosperity.
He added that political instability in the past had delayed several key projects, including linking Godavari waters to the drought-hit zones. “We will not let such setbacks repeat,” he vowed.
MSME Policy 2023-2027: strong incentives for industries
The state’s ongoing MSME Industrial Policy (2023-2027) aims to make Andhra Pradesh the top-ranked state in the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) index.
Under this policy, MSMEs will benefit from:
• Subsidized land prices
• Electricity tariff discounts
• GST reimbursements
• Interest subsidies on term loans
• Financial aid for technology upgrades
Chandrababu said that by strengthening the Single Window Clearance System, the state will further simplify industrial approvals and accelerate investment. He described the MSME park expansion as “a significant step toward positioning Andhra Pradesh as a global manufacturing hub.”
