Marvel star heads to DC: Sebastian Stan in talks for The Batman 2
Gotham City might soon welcome another Marvel favorite. Oscar-nominated actor Sebastian Stan , known for his role as Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, is reportedly in discussions to join Robert Pattinson in the highly anticipated sequel, The Batman Part II .
According to sources, Stan is negotiating a role in the DC Studios project, though the specifics of his character remain under wraps. The sequel, directed by Matt Reeves with a script co-written by Mattson Tomlin, will see Pattinson reprising his role as the Caped Crusader. Filming is expected to begin next spring, ahead of the film’s scheduled October 1, 2027 release. Returning cast members include Colin Farrell as Oz Cobblepot (The Penguin), Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Barry Keoghan, who is set to reprise his enigmatic Joker cameo.
Speaking about the sequel, Reeves expressed excitement, saying, “It’s been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I’m really proud of the script, Mattson and I did.” He also revealed the lengths taken to keep the story under wraps, noting the script was stored in a “secret pouch with a lock and a code.”
The first Batman , released in March 2022, earned USD 772 million worldwide , raising expectations for the sequel. Fans eagerly await official cast confirmations and more details on Gotham’s next chapter.
