Maragadha Mani 2 goes on floors with grand pooja ceremony, Karthi sounds clapboard

The highly anticipated sequel Maragadha Mani 2 officially went on floors with a grand pooja ceremony , marking an auspicious beginning to the much-awaited fantasy-comedy. The launch event turned into a truly star-studded affair , with leading personalities from the Tamil and Telugu film industries gathering to invoke divine blessings for the project’s success.

Actor Karthi sounded the ceremonial clapboard , while Arya handed over the script and director Venkat Prabhu called out the first “action” and “cut,” formally launching the shoot. The ceremony was attended by the principal cast, director A R K Saravan, producers and several prominent guests, creating a festive atmosphere and generating strong buzz among Telugu audiences .

The sequel follows the blockbuster success of the 2017 film Maragadha Naanayam, which was dubbed into Telugu as Maragadha Mani . The film became a major hit across South India, winning praise for its engaging storyline, humour and fantasy elements. Apart from Tamil, the film was released in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi , making it a four-language success . The Telugu version in particular enjoyed wide popularity, helping the film build a loyal fan base in the Telugu states.

Maragadha Mani 2 brings back Aadhi and Nikki Galrani in the lead roles, with Munishkanth and Anandaraj reprising their characters, while Sathyaraj and Priya Bhavani Shankar join the ensemble along with Danie, Arunraja Kamaraj and Muruganandam. Riding on the popularity of the first instalment, expectations are high for a bigger and more ambitious sequel , promising enhanced visuals, stronger humour and an engaging narrative.
