Manchu Lakshmi Meets CM Revanth Reddy on ‘Young India’ School Collaboration

Prominent actor and founder of Teach for Change , Manchu Lakshmi , paid a courtesy visit to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss potential collaboration in the state government’s flagship “Young India Integrated Residential Schools” initiative.

She was accompanied by Devendra Vidyalaya Director Vijayender Goud , and the meeting focused on exploring partnership opportunities in the education sector .

The discussions centred on the government’s plan to establish integrated residential schools in every Assembly constituency for students from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities , with the objective of delivering quality education .

During the meeting, Manchu Lakshmi outlined the initiatives undertaken by Teach for Change , highlighting its work in reading development, digital learning, infrastructure improvement, and teacher training . She also expressed the organisation’s readiness to offer policy inputs during the design and implementation phases of the integrated school model.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reiterated the government’s vision to develop world-class educational institutions equipped with modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and residential facilities . He noted that the programme is already being implemented in several districts and is playing a key role in reducing educational inequalities .

Both sides emphasised that public-private partnership (PPP) models in areas such as digital classrooms and volunteer engagement could yield improved outcomes. The meeting was seen as a significant step forward towards ensuring equitable access to education for every child in Telangana.

Analysts believe that collaboration with organisations like Teach for Change could help bring international-standard education within reach of students in rural areas
