Manchester United produced a stunning comeback to beat Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford, while Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) rewrote Champions League history with a 6-0 demolition of Villarreal on a dramatic night of European football on Tuesday. Barcelona and Bayern Munich also registered important victories.

United’s season appeared headed for another setback after Roma raced to a 2-0 lead within the opening 17 minutes. Matias Soule struck in the 11th minute before Donyell Malen converted a penalty six minutes later.

However, United turned the contest around after the break. Bruno Fernandes converted a retaken penalty before Matheus Cunha scored twice in the 83rd and 86th minutes to complete the remarkable comeback. Cunha was later sent off. The victory provided a much-needed boost to under-pressure manager Michael Carrick.

The match also witnessed protests against United’s American owners, the Glazer family, with supporters throwing tennis balls onto the pitch in the 21st minute, marking 21 years since their takeover.

Meanwhile, PSG made history by scoring four goals within the opening 17 minutes, the fastest such feat in Champions League history. Joao Neves, Desire Doue, Senny Mayulu and Fabian Ruiz found the net before the break. Ruiz scored again in the second half, while 17-year-old David Boly marked his Champions League debut with a goal in the 6-0 victory. PSG remain the only team with 12 points.

At Camp Nou, Barcelona defeated Aston Villa 3-0, with Lamine Yamal scoring early and Raphinha adding a second-half brace.

Bayern Munich beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 through goals from Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer.

Elsewhere, Galatasaray beat Stuttgart 2-0, Inter Milan defeated Feyenoord 3-0 and Sporting Lisbon edged Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0.
