Man in Spiderman Suit Aids Commuters in Flooded Bhiwandi
A man dressed as Spider Man has become an unlikely hero in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi after stepping into flooded streets to help stranded commuters navigate waterlogged roads and hidden potholes. The viral videos feature Shadab Momin , a local content creator, carrying children to safety, guiding vehicles through inundated roads, and drawing attention to the city's recurring civic infrastructure problems.
Heavy rainfall lashed Thane district on Monday, causing widespread waterlogging across Bhiwandi and adjoining areas. With floodwater concealing potholes, several vehicles lost balance while pedestrians struggled to cross submerged roads safely.
Known for creating comedy content in his Spider Man costume, Momin swapped entertainment for public service as the rains intensified. Videos circulating on social media show him carrying two children on his shoulders across flooded stretches, warning motorists about hidden potholes, directing traffic, helping push stranded two wheelers and cars, and assisting vehicles through dangerous waterlogged sections. In some clips, he is also seen clearing debris from flooded roads to make the route safer for commuters.
According to multiple reports, this is not the first time Momin has volunteered during the monsoon. He had similarly helped residents during the 2025 monsoon , returning this year in his signature Spider Man avatar to assist people affected by the heavy rains.
Speaking about his initiative, Momin said his objective was not merely to help residents but also to raise awareness about the area's long standing civic issues. He questioned why roads continue to get flooded after every spell of heavy rain despite crores of rupees being spent each year on road repairs and the desilting of drains.
The videos have gone viral across social media platforms, with many users affectionately calling him "Bhiwandi's Spider Man" and praising his efforts to protect commuters while highlighting civic negligence. Many netizens described his actions as an example of ordinary citizens stepping up when public infrastructure falls short during the monsoon.
