Man dies after alleged drug overdose in Rajendranagar

A 28-year-old man died on Wednesday night in Rajendranagar, allegedly after consuming an overdose of narcotic drugs, police said on Thursday. The man, a mobile phone technician, reportedly consumed the drugs along with a woman and another individual. According to a preliminary investigation, his death was caused by "excess consumption of the drug," a police official said. Following a complaint filed by the man’s father, authorities have registered a case. Police added that further investigation into the incident is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the overdose.

Experts say that narcotic drugs, especially opioids (strong painkillers) like heroin, morphine, and certain prescription painkillers, are commonly abused and strictly controlled by law. These drugs can be very dangerous when taken in high doses, leading to severe health risks. In the short term, overdosing can cause extreme drowsiness, slow or stopped breathing, low blood pressure, and even unconsciousness. Long-term or repeated abuse may result in brain damage, liver and kidney problems, heart infections, chronic breathing issues, severe addiction, and mental health disorders.
