The ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Tangier, Morocco, saw India’s skeet shooters display determination and grit, even as they wrapped up the event without reaching the finals. While Sunday had no medal events scheduled, it marked the conclusion of the skeet competitions and provided the team with valuable exposure ahead of the upcoming trap events .
Olympian Maheshwari Chauhan led the Indian charge with a strong performance in the women’s skeet . She narrowly missed qualifying for the finals, finishing just two targets short of the cut. Her effort highlighted India’s growing competitiveness on the global stage, demonstrating focus and composure under pressure . Chauhan’s performance underlined why she remains one of India’s top prospects in international shotgun shooting.
Darshana Rathore and Yashasvi Rathore also contributed with solid scores, ending their campaigns in the top twenty-five. In the men’s event, Parampal Singh Guron was India’s best-placed shooter, finishing 26th, while other team members gained crucial experience competing against some of the world’s top athletes.
With skeet events concluded, Sunday was largely dedicated to practice and preparation for trap competitions . Indian shooters used the day to fine-tune their techniques, adjust equipment, and get accustomed to the Tangier range .
