Maharashtra Unveils Official Logo For 2027 Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday unveiled the official logo for the 2027 Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela , marking a key step in preparations for one of India’s largest religious congregations.

The logo was unveiled at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other dignitaries, according to an official statement.

The design was selected through a nationwide competition jointly organised by the Kumbh Mela Authority, MyGov and the Association of Designers of India. The contest, held between November 20 and December 20, 2025, received an overwhelming response with 3,067 entries , including 70 submissions from international participants .

A jury comprising eminent design experts, including noted lyricist and advertising professional Prasoon Joshi, selected the winning design.

Sumit Kate secured the first prize and received Rs 3 lakh , while Mayank Nayak and Piyush Pimpalnerkar won the second and third prizes, receiving Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively.

According to the statement, the logo reflects the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar Temple. It incorporates symbols associated with the Kumbh tradition, including Lord Shiva’s trident , the Trimbakeshwar temple, the iconic Kalaram temple arch and the sacred Godavari River.

The Simhastha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, attracts millions of devotees, saints and tourists from across India and abroad.
