Maharashtra SIR: 12 districts achieve full distribution of voter enumeration forms

Twelve districts in Maharashtra have completed 100 per cent distribution of elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs) under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, marking a major milestone in the state’s voter-list verification exercise.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, the districts achieving full distribution are Jalgaon, Buldhana, Wardha, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Hingoli, Parbhani, Ahmednagar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Kolhapur.

The SIR enumeration phase is underway from June 30 to August 17. Across Maharashtra, 9,54,77,119 enumeration forms, or 97.55 per cent of the state’s 9,78,54,049 electors, had been distributed as of the latest bulletin.

Digitisation of the forms is also progressing, with 7,49,95,143 forms, representing 76.64 per cent of the total electorate, digitised so far.

Jalgaon distributed forms to all 35,52,198 electors, while Buldhana completed distribution among its 20,89,965 electors. The achievement places these districts among the leading areas in the state’s ongoing revision process.

Among the 12 districts that have completed distribution, Hingoli recorded the highest digitisation rate at 91.11 per cent, followed by Buldhana at 90.36 per cent, Ratnagiri at 90.01 per cent and Gadchiroli at 88.95 per cent.

Other major districts are also advancing steadily. Nagpur has completed distribution to 92.85 per cent of its voters, while Thane stands at 90.37 per cent and Mumbai Suburban at 93.10 per cent. Mumbai City has reached 98.70 per cent distribution.

The large-scale exercise is being carried out by 1,00,253 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across Maharashtra. Electoral Registration Officers appoint BLOs for each assembly constituency with the approval of the respective District Election Officers.

The completion of form distribution in 12 districts comes as the state works towards finishing the enumeration phase by August 17. The next stages of the revision process will depend on the processing and digitisation of forms collected from electors.

The figures underline the scale of the statewide exercise, with officials focusing on completing pending distribution and accelerating digitisation before the enumeration deadline, while maintaining coverage across urban and rural constituencies areas.
