An extensive recruitment drive for 15,631 positions, including Police Constable, Police Constable (Driver), Police Constable (SRPF), Police Bandsman, and Prison Constable, has been announced by Maharashtra Police. Applications are being accepted online from 29 October 2025 to 30 November 2025 through the official website mahapolice.gov.in.

While the post-wise structure and eligibility criteria are consistent with previous recruitment patterns, the notification details remain unconfirmed on the official site as of 28 November 2025.

According to the information shared, 12th-pass candidates are eligible for most posts, including Police Constable, Constable (Vehicle Driver), Constable (SRPF), and Prison Constable. The Police Bandsman post is stated to require a 10th-class qualification, which aligns with earlier recruitment norms.

A total of 12,624 vacancies have reportedly been allotted for Police Constable posts, while 515 positions have been reserved for Constable (Driver) and 1,566 posts for Constable (SRPF). The recruitment also includes 113 Bandsman positions and 554 Prison Constable posts.

The age limit has been stated as 18 to 28 years for Police Constable, Police Bandsman, and Prison Constable posts. For Police Constable (Driver), the age limit has reportedly been fixed at 19 to 28 years, while candidates applying for the SRPF Constable category are expected to fall within the 18 to 25 years bracket. These limits match the standard pattern followed by Maharashtra Police in past recruitment cycles.

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) are expected to form major components of the selection process. Long-distance running is stated to include 1600 metres for men and 800 metres for women, while the short-distance sprint is set at 100 metres for both male and female candidates. A ball-throw test has also been mentioned, though no specific distance requirement has been provided.

A written examination covering General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and English is expected to be conducted. Medical examination and document verification procedures are likely to follow. The inclusion of an interview round has been mentioned, although interviews are not always conducted in constable recruitment, making this element uncertain.

An application fee of ₹450 for general category candidates and ₹350 for reserved category candidates has been indicated, consistent with previous official notifications.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online by completing registration, entering personal and educational details, uploading documents, and paying the prescribed fee. Applicants have been advised to check the official website for confirmation, as the final PDF notification had not been published on the Maharashtra Police portal at the time of reporting.
