Madhira witnessed a massive free medical camp to commemorate the 87th birth anniversary of the late former Union Minister and “Rebel Star” Krishna Raju. The camp, focused on diabetes care, was organized under the aegis of the UK India Foot Foundation and inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka .

What made this camp unique was the participation of Dr. Venu , a renowned doctor from London, along with a team of 30 expert medical professionals from India and the UK. The team provided advanced medical services free of cost to underprivileged residents of the Madhira constituency. Special attention was given to complications arising from diabetes, including foot infections and other related health issues , with tests and medicines made available to patients on the spot.

The event was graced by Krishna Raju’s wife Shyamala and Nandini , Chairperson of Amma Foundation. Speaking at the event, Bhatti said, “Our bond with Krishna Raju’s family is unforgettable. It is a matter of pride that their daughter Uppalapati Praseeda and my son Mallu Surya Vikramaditya have come together with friendship and a spirit of service to organize this initiative. My aim is to develop Madhira into a model town with modern facilities.”

In addition, Indiramma sarees were distributed to 10,272 eligible women within Madhira Municipality limits. The Deputy CM highlighted government efforts to empower women economically by providing interest-free loans and other financial opportunities to those enrolled in self-help groups.

Officials also stated that underground drainage works in Madhira would be completed this year , followed by the construction of new CC roads throughout the town . The Deputy CM appealed to citizens to bear minor inconveniences patiently for the sake of future development.

The mega diabetes treatment camp, organized on Krishna Raju’s birth anniversary, thus stood out as a flagship social service initiative , delivering critical medical support to the underprivileged while reinforcing the spirit of community care.
