The cameras are rolling and the mood is celebratory as the much-anticipated biographical drama Maa Vande , based on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , officially went on floors with a traditional pooja ceremony. Visuals from the auspicious start quickly made their way onto social media, offering a first glimpse into a project that promises emotional depth, scale and cinematic grandeur.

Stepping into one of the most challenging roles of his career is acclaimed Malayalam star Unni Mukundan , who essays the role of PM Narendra Modi . The film was first announced on the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday in September , instantly sparking curiosity and discussion across film circles and among audiences nationwide.

Maa Vande aims to go beyond political milestones, positioning itself as an intimate portrait of a man shaped by values, resilience and purpose . The narrative focuses strongly on Modi’s formative years, his rise from humble beginnings, and the powerful influence of his mother Heeraben Modi , whose presence is said to form the emotional backbone of the film.

Sharing his thoughts on portraying the leader, Unni Mukundan described the experience as overwhelming yet deeply inspiring . Recalling his childhood in Ahmedabad, where he first knew Modi as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the actor also spoke about meeting him in person in 2023 - an encounter that left a lasting mark. One phrase shared by Modi during that interaction, “Jhookvanu Nahi” , meaning “Never Bow Down,” has since become a guiding principle for the actor.

Production for Maa Vande has begun in Kerala , with plans to shoot across multiple locations in India to authentically recreate different chapters of Modi’s life. The makers have confirmed that the film will be mounted on a grand scale , blending emotional storytelling with visually striking sequences.

Backing the film under the Silver Cast Creations banner is producer Veer Reddy M. , while the project is written and directed by Kranthi Kumar C.H. The technical crew adds further weight to the film, featuring cinematographer K.K. Senthil Kumar , editor Sreekar Prasad , production designer Sabu Cyril , action director King Solomon , and music composer Ravi Basrur, a combination known for delivering powerful cinematic experiences.

Planned as a pan-India release in all major Indian languages and overseas markets, Maa Vande is being positioned as a film that speaks to audiences across regions and generations. With shooting now underway, the biopic is steadily shaping into one of the most talked-about and ambitious projects centered on contemporary Indian history.
