LNK Energy to invest ₹10,000 Crore in Integrated Clean Energy platform
Three Indian entrepreneurs on Monday launched LNK Energy , a next-generation integrated clean energy platform, announcing an initial investment of ₹10,000 crore over the next five years , as India accelerates efforts to strengthen energy security and decarbonise its economy.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 , where the founders outlined plans to build a fully integrated clean-energy ecosystem spanning advanced manufacturing, green fuels and renewable power generation.
LNK Energy will begin operations with a 6 gigawatt (GW) solar cell and module manufacturing facility , integrated with ingot and wafer production, in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra . Spread across 60 acres , the project will manufacture high-efficiency solar cells and modules using advanced technologies and global best practices. The company has signed an agreement with the Maharashtra government for setting up the facility.
India’s rapid economic growth, rising power demand and heavy reliance on imported fossil fuels have underscored the urgency of scaling up clean energy manufacturing and deployment. At the UN climate summit COP26 in Glasgow , Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 , alongside a push to expand domestic manufacturing to cut import dependence, particularly in solar equipment.
LNK Energy’s founders said the company aims to address these priorities by building scale, technology depth and supply-chain resilience within India. Over time, the company plans to manufacture key adjacencies such as junction boxes, battery platforms and energy storage components, strengthening the domestic clean-energy ecosystem.
Following the establishment of its manufacturing base, LNK Energy will expand into green fuels , with a strong focus on green hydrogen , targeting the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors such as industry and transport. In parallel, the company plans to develop a renewable energy generation portfolio as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) and through hybrid open-access solutions that integrate solar, storage and other renewable sources.
The company has been co-founded by Paritosh Ladhani , Joint Managing Director of SLMG Beverages, India’s largest Coca-Cola bottler; Kushagra Nandan , Co-Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of REnergy Dynamics (RED) and former Managing Director of SunSource Energy; and Varun Karad , BioEnergy entrepreneur and Co-Founder and CEO of RED and LNK Energy.
Nandan said the platform was conceived as a long-term institution aligned with India’s national priorities. “At a time when energy security, industrial self-reliance and decarbonisation are becoming critical, we plan to combine scale, technology depth and capital discipline to create long-term value,” he said.
Karad said the future of energy lies in integration across manufacturing, green fuels and renewable power. “LNK Energy has been structured to address this convergence, using advanced technologies to deliver reliable, scalable and sustainable energy solutions for industry and the broader economy,” he said.
