
Livestock sector adds ₹1.95 lakh Crore to AP economy
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, [insert CM name], on Monday highlighted the state’s thriving livestock sector, noting that it generates an impressive ₹1.95 lakh crore in Gross Value Added (GVA). He emphasized that livestock remains a cornerstone of rural livelihoods, agricultural growth, and the overall state economy.
Speaking about the sector, the CM said, “Our livestock industry is not just a source of milk and meat, it is a key driver of employment, rural income, and allied businesses such as dairy processing, feed production, and veterinary services. Its contribution of ₹1.95 lakh crore in GVA reflects the sector’s vital role in Andhra Pradesh’s growth story.”
He added that with continued focus on modern breeding practices, improved animal healthcare, and strengthened market linkages, the livestock sector has immense potential to further enhance rural incomes and the state’s GDP.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of supporting farmers with better infrastructure, skill development, and technological adoption to ensure sustainable growth and productivity in the sector.
“This remarkable contribution underscores the significance of livestock as a pillar of Andhra Pradesh’s agricultural and rural development strategy,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to nurturing and expanding this vital segment of the state economy.
