LG energy solution unveils B.once for transparent used-EV battery diagnostics
LG Energy Solution (LGES) has unveiled B.once, a new diagnostic service designed to assess the performance and health of electric-vehicle (EV) batteries. The platform enables quick and reliable evaluation of key battery metrics such as capacity, voltage, and temperature, all within a single scan.
According to a report by Pulse, the English service of Maeil Business News Korea, LGES aims to improve transparency and trust in the used-EV market by offering accurate battery-health data to buyers, sellers, and auction platforms. “Transparency and trust in used-EV transactions and auctions are intended to be improved through the provision of reliable battery-health data by the service.” the company said in a statement.

B.once offers two distinct modes Quick scan and Power scan:
• Quick Scan delivers an overall battery condition report in under five minutes, ideal for quick checks during sales or inspections.
• Power Scan, on the other hand, conducts a comprehensive analysis based on real charging data, providing deeper insights into parameters like energy efficiency, capacity, and degradation.
The results are compiled into a visual report, displaying critical details such as:
• Battery capacity
• Energy efficiency
• Cell deviation
• Charging history
• Degradation level
Mobile App Integration and Platform Adoption :
All diagnostic data is accessible through a dedicated mobile application, allowing EV dealers and users to easily view and share battery insights. The app connects with LGES’s proprietary diagnostic devices, enabling transparent and data-backed communication between sellers and buyers.
The used-EV platform Revolt is set to adopt B.once later this month, marking the first real-world integration of the service.
Expanding Battery Lifecycle Services :
LG Energy Solution has supplied more than 8 billion battery cells for 15 million EVs worldwide since 2009, and B.once represents a key step in expanding its battery-lifecycle service business.
The company previously introduced B.Lifecare, a continuous monitoring service for existing EV owners. With the launch of B.once, LGES now offers an end-to-end ecosystem for battery management from diagnostics and maintenance to resale and recycling. “A comprehensive lifecycle management solution that enhances sustainability, safety, and value for EV users is being built by LGES with B.once and B.Lifecare,” the report concluded.
