Lazio Go Joint Top As Real Sociedad Snatch Dramatic Late Win

Lazio maintained their perfect start to the Serie A season with a 2-1 comeback victory over Udinese, while Real Sociedad secured a dramatic 3-2 win at Elche as the Spanish side scored in the final minute.

Lazio fell behind shortly after halftime when Jesper Karlstrom opened the scoring in the 49th minute. But Davide Frattesi continued his impressive run, scoring for the third consecutive game when he slid in to convert a low cross in the 75th minute.

Frattesi had previously scored the winning goals in Lazio's 1-0 victories over Genoa and Bologna. He was substituted soon after his latest equaliser, with Albert Gudmundsson making his Lazio debut. The Icelandic forward then made an immediate impact, heading home two minutes from full time to complete the comeback.

The result lifted Lazio to nine points from three matches, putting them level at the top of the Serie A table with Roma and Inter Milan. Udinese remained 10th.

In another Serie A fixture, Daniel Maldini scored the only goal as Cagliari defeated Lecce 1-0. Maldini, on loan from Atalanta, headed home from a first-half corner. Lecce created chances after the break but could not find an equaliser, with Paul Mendy hitting the post before Maldini struck the woodwork with a free kick. Cagliari moved into the top half, while Lecce dropped to 14th.

In La Liga, Real Sociedad ended a long wait for an away victory with a thrilling 3-2 win at Elche. Job Ochieng and Yangel Herrera gave Sociedad a two-goal advantage before Jon Martin was sent off in the 65th minute.

Elche capitalised on the numerical advantage, with Thomas Lemar reducing the deficit before Fer Nino equalised. However, after Elche missed several opportunities to complete the comeback, Luka Sucic struck on the counter-attack in the 90th minute to seal Sociedad's victory.

Sociedad moved to ninth with seven points from five matches, while Elche remained joint-bottom with one point.

Elsewhere, Getafe and Celta Vigo drew 1-1, leaving both clubs still searching for their first league victory of the season. Martin Satriano put Getafe ahead before Carl Starfelt headed Celta level in the 57th minute. Getafe's Zaid Romero was later sent off after receiving a second yellow card, but Celta could not find a winner.
