Last Day to Apply for BARC Scientific Officer Posts

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has invited online applications for recruitment of Scientific Officers through its prestigious OCES/DGFS–2026 programme, offering engineering graduates and science postgraduates an opportunity to join the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

According to the official notification, applications will be accepted from December 22, 2025 , and the last date for submission is January 21, 2026 . The recruitment will be conducted through two training schemes: the Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES-2026) and the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS-2026) .

Candidates selected under OCES will undergo a one-year intensive training , while those chosen for DGFS will receive a two-year fellowship , including sponsored M.Tech studies at premier institutions. On successful completion of training, candidates will be appointed as Scientific Officers (Group-A) in leading DAE units such as BARC, IGCAR, NPCIL , and other allied organisations.

During the training period, selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹74,000 per month . Upon appointment, they will be placed at Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission , with total monthly emoluments amounting to approximately ₹1.35 lakh , including allowances, for postings in Mumbai.

Applicants must possess a B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Tech/B.E or M.E/M.Tech degree in specified disciplines with a minimum of 60 per cent aggregate marks . The age limit as on August 1, 2026 , is 26 years for General candidates , 29 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) , and 31 years for SC/ST and other eligible categories .
