Tri-Services Exercise ‘Trishul’ has concluded on a high note, marking a powerful display of India’s growing joint military strength and the seamless unity of its armed forces. The large-scale drill spanning land, air and sea showcased how the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are increasingly operating as a single, integrated combat force capable of meeting modern security challenges with speed, precision and coordination.

Held across the creek and desert sectors of Rajasthan and Gujarat, and extending into the North Arabian Sea, the 2025 edition of Exercise Trishul was led by the Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command, with key participation from the Indian Army’s Southern Command and the Indian Air Force’s South Western Air Command. The involvement of the Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force and several central agencies added another crucial layer, reinforcing the idea that national security today demands joint action across uniformed and civilian arms.

The exercise placed a strong focus on enhancing synergy between the three Services and validating multi-domain operational procedures. Forces tested how well their platforms, personnel and digital networks could work together in real-time, a priority as warfare increasingly spans land, sea, air, space, cyber and the electromagnetic spectrum simultaneously.

A major highlight was amphibious operations in the North Arabian Sea, combining naval assets with shore-based Air Force elements to test joint air–sea manoeuvres. Carrier-based operations were conducted alongside IAF aircraft, enabling both Services to exchange best practices and refine joint SOPs for air operations. The drill also validated joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) procedures, along with Electronic Warfare and Cyber Warfare plans domains that are key to keeping India prepared for future conflict scenarios shaped by information dominance and technological disruption.

Throughout the exercise, indigenous platforms and technologies played a central role, underscoring India’s push for self-reliance under Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The Services used the opportunity to fine-tune procedures to counter emerging threats, reflecting the rapidly evolving nature of warfare.

With its successful culmination, Exercise Trishul has reinforced the armed forces’ collective readiness to operate as one integrated entity. It stands as a strong affirmation of India’s growing joint operational culture and its commitment to strengthening national security through seamless tri-service cooperation.
