Ladakh Honours 36 Individuals With UT State Awards For 2022-2025

Ladakh UT State Awards 2022-2025:

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Tuesday honoured 36 individuals with the UT State Awards for their work and service between 2022 and 2025.

The awards recognise people who have made a difference to Ladakh in different fields. These include bravery, literature, art and craft, social work, public service, sports, farming, business, teaching and academics. Work linked to protecting the environment and helping communities was also recognised.

The Ladakh Administration started the UT State Awards to honour people whose courage, hard work and talent have helped society and the Union Territory.

Speaking at the ceremony, Saxena said the awards were not only about honouring past work. He said they should also inspire young people in Ladakh to work hard and serve their communities.

“The UT State Awards are not merely a recognition of past achievements; they are a celebration of the values of courage, dedication, service and excellence,” Saxena said.

He said the real success of the awards would come when the stories of the winners encouraged young people to dream bigger, work harder and contribute to society.

Saxena congratulated all 36 awardees and said their work had helped Ladakh's social, cultural, educational, economic and sporting progress.

He also spoke about the values shown by the awardees. Their journeys, he said, reflected courage during difficult times, care for others, respect for Ladakh's heritage and a strong sense of duty towards their communities.

The Lieutenant Governor urged young people to learn from the awardees and have the confidence to pursue their goals while staying connected to society.

Saxena said the administration wants to create more opportunities for people with talent and ensure that hard work gets recognised. He also stressed that Ladakh's growth should remain closely linked to its culture and traditions.

The Ladakh Administration separately confirmed the award ceremony in its official release on August 12. The government release also confirmed the figure of 36 awardees and the 2022-2025 award period.
