KVS - NVS Recruitment 2025: Application Deadline Extended to 11 December

The KVS–NVS Recruitment 2025 notification has announced one of the largest national-level recruitment drives for teaching and non-teaching positions across Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). These posts are fully central in nature, meaning that all selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India, as both organizations operate under all-India transfer liability with no state-wise distribution of vacancies. The official notification initially set the registration period from 14 November 2025, with the last date for online applications being 04 December 2025, but this deadline was later extended to 11 December to accommodate the large volume of applicants.

The recruitment offers a vast range of positions across multiple categories. In Group-A, vacancies include Assistant Commissioners (17 posts combined for KVS and NVS), Principals (227 posts), and Vice Principals (58 posts in KVS). The largest number of openings lie in teaching categories: KVS has 1465 PGT posts across various subjects, while NVS has 1513 PGT vacancies, including specialized posts in Modern Indian Languages. For TGT positions, KVS announced 2794 vacancies and NVS 2978 vacancies, with an additional 443 vacancies for Third Language Teachers in NVS. KVS alone has 3365 Primary Teacher vacancies, including PRT, PRT (Music), and PRT Special Educator roles. Alongside teaching roles, both organizations also offer numerous non-teaching opportunities such as Administrative Officer, Finance Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographer Grades I & II, Lab Attendant, and Multi-Tasking Staff, ensuring a broad spectrum of career avenues for aspirants.

The application fee structure varies depending on the post category. Group-A positions including Principal, Vice Principal, and Assistant Commissioner require a payment of ₹2300 as the examination fee plus ₹500 as processing charges. For PGT, TGT, PRT, Librarian, and other Group-B posts such as Administrative Officer, Finance Officer, and Assistant Engineer, the total fee is ₹2000, comprising ₹1500 examination fee and ₹500 processing fee. Clerical and support staff positions such as Senior Secretariat Assistant, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographers, Lab Attendant, and Multi-Tasking Staff require a total fee of ₹1700, with ₹1200 as examination fee and ₹500 as processing charges. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from the examination fee but must still pay the ₹500 processing fee in all cases.

Reservation in this recruitment strictly follows Central Government rules, not state-specific policies. The reservation percentages include 15% for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 27% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10% for EWS, and 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. EWS candidates must ensure their annual family income is below ₹8 lakh and that they do not possess disqualifying property such as large agricultural land or large residential flats/plots. OBC-NCL certificates must be issued between 01 January 2025 and the closing date of application to remain valid. PwBD candidates receive facilities such as compensatory time and scribes based on the RPwD Act 2016 guidelines.

Since both KVS and NVS are central autonomous bodies, their vacancies are not distributed or reserved on a state basis. Candidates cannot claim home-state preference, nor is any state-wise quota applicable. The organizations clearly state that selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India based on administrative requirements, emphasizing the national and mobile nature of the service.

The selection process includes a Tier-1 OMR-based preliminary exam that is qualifying in nature, followed by a Tier-2 examination which is the primary determinant of merit. Several posts additionally require an interview (such as PGT, TGT, PRT, and Group-A posts), while certain clerical posts like Assistant Section Officer, Senior Secretariat Assistant, and MTS rely solely on Tier-2 marks, without interviews.
