KVS and NVS Recruitment 2025, today is the last date

The application deadline for the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) Recruitment 2025 has been extended to 11 December 2025 , allowing candidates additional time to apply for 14,967 teaching and non-teaching posts . The recruitment notification has been issued through the official portals of KVS and NVS, and the online registration process has been made available from 14 November 2025 .

According to the notification, the recruitment drive has been launched to fill a wide range of positions in schools functioning under the two central government autonomous bodies. The vacancies have been divided into 9,126 posts under KVS and 5,841 posts under NVS . Posts such as Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice Principal, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Primary Teacher (PRT), Librarian and several administrative and support staff positions have been included.

Applications are being accepted only through the official websites — kvsangathan.nic.in , navodaya.gov.in , and cbse.gov.in . Candidates have been informed that applications submitted through any other portal will not be considered. The last date for fee payment has also been set as 11 December 2025 .

Vacancy Distribution

Under KVS, 8 posts of Assistant Commissioner , 134 of Principal , 58 of Vice Principal , 1,465 of PGT , 2,794 of TGT , 147 of Librarian , 3,365 of PRT , and 1,155 non-teaching posts are being offered. Under NVS, 93 Principal posts , 9 Assistant Commissioner posts , 1,513 PGT posts , 18 PGT (Modern Indian Languages) , 2,978 TGT posts , 443 TGT (Third Language) , and 787 non-teaching posts have been announced.

Eligibility and Age Criteria

Eligibility requirements have been outlined separately for each post. Qualifications such as B.Ed , B.Lib , Postgraduate degrees , B.Com , M.Com , B.E/B.Tech , Graduation , and Class 12 have been prescribed depending on the nature of the post. For teaching positions, qualifications recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) have been made mandatory.

The minimum age has been set at 18 years , while the maximum age has been capped at 50 years , with relaxations applicable under government rules.

Application Fee

For the posts of Assistant Commissioner, Principal and Vice Principal, an application fee of ₹2,800 is being charged for General, OBC, and EWS categories, while ₹500 is being charged for SC, ST, PH, and Ex-servicemen candidates.

For PGT, TGT, PRT and various officer-level posts, the fee has been fixed at ₹2,000 for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and ₹500 for reserved categories.

For posts such as SSA, Stenographer, JSA, Lab Attendant and MTS, the fee has been set at ₹1,700 for General, OBC and EWS categories, and ₹500 for others.

Selection Process

A two-tier selection process has been announced for several teaching and administrative posts, followed by an interview. The merit list is to be prepared by giving 85% weightage to the Tier-2 examination and 15% to the interview , which will carry 100 marks.

The Tier-2 examination will consist of 100 questions for 300 marks, covering General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, English, and one Modern Indian Language. Candidates shortlisted for the final stage will be required to produce a medical fitness certificate issued by an authorised medical authority.

Candidates selected for NVS posts will be eligible for all admissible allowances, in addition to a 10% special allowance for residential duties, except for the post of Assistant Commissioner (Academics).

How to Apply

Applicants have been instructed to register and submit the online form only through the official portals. A valid email ID and mobile number must be kept active throughout the recruitment process. Candidates applying for multiple posts must pay fees separately for each. Within PGT and TGT categories, applications may be submitted only for one subject .

The recruitment drive has been launched to strengthen staff resources in central schools functioning across the country, and thousands of aspirants are expected to participate due to the large number of vacancies.
