A sharp political confrontation unfolded in Telangana as K. T. Rama Rao intensified his attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , accusing him of trivialising public distress with his controversial “sadistic pleasure” remark . The statement, KTR said, exposed a disconnect between leadership and ground realities .

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan , the BRS Working President framed the controversy as more than rhetoric, calling it a sign of broader governance failure under the Congress administration. He argued that rising public dissatisfaction is being met with indifference instead of accountability .

KTR pointed to crises across education, agriculture, and welfare sectors . He raised concerns over reported Gurukul student deaths , questioning the government’s response and highlighting systemic gaps in residential institutions meant for vulnerable sections.

On the agrarian front, he described worsening farmer distress , citing delays in procurement of paddy, maize, and jowar . He alleged that crops are being left exposed to unseasonal rains , while issues like irregular power supply and delays in Rythu Bandhu assistance are compounding rural hardships.

The BRS leader also flagged an education crisis , pointing to pending fee reimbursement dues that have pushed students into uncertainty. He claimed colleges withholding certificates are affecting economically weaker students , putting their academic future at risk . Referring to the scheme introduced by Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy , he accused the current government of weakening a crucial support system . He also warned that allowing institutions to collect fees directly from parents could increase financial pressure on families.

Reiterating his party’s stand, KTR said the BRS would continue its pro-people political fight , whether in power or opposition. The event also saw leaders from Kalwakurthy constituency joining BRS , signalling ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s base amid shifting political dynamics.
