KTR slams CM over governance, calls Congress promises “Deceptive”

Telangana BRS leader and working president of the BRS, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), sharply criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s performance, accusing him of lacking understanding of governance and making false promises to the public.

Speaking at a felicitation event for newly elected sarpanches, deputy sarpanches, and ward members in Warangal district’s Jangaon town, KTR targeted both the Congress government’s two-year record and the CM’s approach.

“Revanth Reddy has no grasp of governance. He seems to know nothing beyond making tall claims,” KTR said. He ridiculed the CM for commenting on water resources, saying Revanth did not even know where the Godavari River flows and mistakenly claimed the Bhakra Nangal project is in Telangana - a clear sign of his lack of awareness.

KTR accused the Congress government of failing to fulfill any of its promises in the last two years. He highlighted the hardships faced by farmers, who are standing in long queues in cold weather to buy urea, and said the CM’s assurance of delivering fertilizer in 91 days had turned into a longer wait. KTR added that public frustration over these issues was growing, especially in rural areas.

He also criticized Revanth for ignoring Telangana’s history. “Congress has looted Telangana for 60 years, yet CM speaks without understanding the sacrifices made for the state. It is unacceptable for him to lecture KCR on rivers and governance,” KTR said.

Referring to the achievements of KCR’s administration, KTR said the government had successfully implemented water supply schemes, pensions, Rythu Bandhu, crop insurance, and irrigation projects, driving development across Telangana. In contrast, he accused Congress of making false promises to farmers, including Rs 15,000 under Rythu Bandhu, Rs 500 bonuses, and jobs for youth, which he called a deception by Rahul Gandhi.

KTR also slammed the Congress government for failing on women’s welfare. He criticized the party for not being able to provide Batukamma sarees or Rs 2,500 monthly aid to girls, yet claiming it would make millions of women millionaires. “Congress has disappointed the people, and the public will ensure they learn a lesson in the coming days,” he said.

KTR has turned his attention to the ongoing urea shortage. He said that urea is unavailable in shops and even on apps, and that the new “card system” introduced by the government would create further difficulties for farmers. According to KTR, the hardships faced by farmers in obtaining fertilizers are entirely due to the government’s inefficiency.
