KTR Calls for United Fight to Protect Telangana, Targets Congress Over Governance
Marking Telangana State Formation Day , BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) called on people to remain vigilant in safeguarding Telangana’s interests and preserving the spirit of the statehood movement. Participating in celebrations held at Telangana Bhavan , KTR hoisted the national flag alongside senior party leaders, paid floral tributes to the Telangana Talli statue, and honored the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the separate state movement. Several Telangana artists were also felicitated in recognition of their contributions to the state’s cultural heritage.
Addressing party workers, KTR said Telangana was the result of decades of struggle, sacrifices, and aspirations of millions who fought for self-rule and equitable development. He described the formation of Telangana as a historic victory against discrimination, neglect, and injustice, and urged citizens to remain committed to protecting the state's achievements. Recalling the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) , KTR said that despite skepticism and political opposition, KCR successfully led the movement to statehood and later guided Telangana through a period of rapid growth and development.
The BRS leader also launched a sharp attack on the ruling Congress government , particularly targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over employment-related promises. He questioned the government's performance on job creation and recruitment, alleging that several assurances made to unemployed youth before the elections remain unfulfilled. Challenging Rahul Gandhi to visit Telangana and directly interact with job seekers, KTR claimed that the concerns of unemployed youth have not been adequately addressed by the present administration.
KTR further alleged that dissatisfaction with the government's policies was growing among various sections of society, including farmers, unemployed youth, government employees, and pensioners. According to him, the increasing number of protests and demonstrations across the state reflected public frustration with the government's functioning. He argued that the administration had failed to meet expectations and accused it of neglecting key issues affecting ordinary citizens.
Reiterating the slogan “Congress Must Go, KCR Must Return,” KTR said the BRS's fight was not merely about political power but about protecting Telangana's identity, self-respect, and developmental achievements. He accused the Congress of coming to power on the strength of misleading narratives and promises, and alleged that the current government was undermining the values and aspirations that shaped the Telangana movement. Concluding his address, KTR urged party workers and supporters to remain united and continue working towards what he described as the larger goal of safeguarding Telangana’s future and preserving the legacy of the statehood struggle.
