BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has alleged large-scale irregularities in the ₹3,296-crore Radial Road-2 project in Telangana, accusing the government of favouring select companies in the tendering process. In an open letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, he demanded a comprehensive investigation, the cancellation of disputed tenders and full disclosure of project records.

KTR alleged that contracts for the greenfield expressway connecting Budvel and Kodangal were divided into three packages and awarded to companies allegedly selected in advance. He claimed that lower-priced bidders were sidelined on technical grounds, while companies quoting higher rates were awarded the contracts. The alleged irregularities could lead to substantial losses to public funds, he warned, seeking an inquiry into claims of ₹600 crore in financial losses.

The BRS leader demanded the immediate cancellation of the disputed tenders and the publication of details covering all three packages, including estimated project costs, final contract values and financial bids submitted by qualified bidders.

He also called for the release of technical evaluation reports, with specific reasons for disqualifying each bidder. Bid-opening statements, comparative statements and minutes of evaluation committee meetings should be made publicly available to ensure transparency and accountability, he said.

Extending his demand for scrutiny, KTR sought a special audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of contracts worth more than ₹100 crore awarded by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) over the past three years.

He further urged the state government to issue a white paper detailing the tendering process and introduce clear, transparent rules to prevent similar controversies in future.

KTR maintained that public disclosure of the records and an independent inquiry were necessary to establish the facts and protect public money. The allegations require verification through official documents and an independent investigation.
