Konidela Nagababu entry in legislative council

Jana Sena leader Konidela Nagendra Babu, known as Nagababu, has officially become a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and attended the Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions for the first time. This marks his return to a legislative body after a gap since his defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Narsapuram.

Nagababu did not contest in the 2024 elections but played a key role in the party's campaign. He actively campaigned across Andhra Pradesh and also traveled to countries like the United States to raise funds for the party. Following the decisive victory of the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance, his brother and Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, recommended him for an MLC position, which was approved by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

His attendance at the sessions for the first time was met with congratulations from fellow members. Despite earlier speculation that Nagababu would be inducted into the cabinet, a cabinet expansion does not appear to be imminent. This suggests that his opportunity to become a minister may be delayed.

In preparation for the assembly sessions, senior party leaders Nadendla Manohar and Pawan Kalyan met with the party's MLAs. During the meeting, they briefed the members on the rules of conduct within the assembly and outlined the party's legislative strategy, providing guidance on various key issues.
