Former minister and MLA Konda Surekha has withdrawn her earlier personal remarks against BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), stating that her comments were made in the context of the political circumstances prevailing at the time and were not intended to hurt him or his family. In a post on X, she acknowledged that certain statements were unsubstantiated and should have been avoided.

Surekha explained that her remarks came during a period of political confrontation, when she was criticising the opposition. She said the prevailing political atmosphere had influenced her statements but maintained that she had no deliberate intention of causing personal distress to KTR or his family members.

The former minister admitted that some of her comments were inappropriate and that she should have exercised greater restraint while expressing her political criticism. Her statement indicated a distinction between her political opposition and her personal intentions, clarifying that she had no desire to damage the reputation of KTR or his family.

Surekha expressed regret over the possibility that her earlier remarks might have hurt KTR or his family members. She said she was sorry if her comments had caused them pain, making it clear that harming their personal dignity or reputation was never her objective.

In her social media post, she also announced that she was withdrawing her earlier statements against the BRS leader. The move marks a public retraction of the personal comments she had made during the earlier political exchange.

The development brings renewed attention to the personal nature of political exchanges in Telangana, where criticism between leaders of rival parties has frequently extended beyond policy disagreements. Surekha's statement acknowledges the need to avoid unsupported personal allegations, even amid intense political competition.

By withdrawing her remarks and expressing regret, the former minister has clarified her position on the controversy, stating that her comments were not motivated by an intention to target KTR or his family personally.
