Kollapur begins paddy procurement through women’s federations: Minister Jupalli
Minister Jupalli Krishnarao, along with officials, inaugurated paddy procurement centers in villages of Chinnambavi Mandal, including Ayyavaripalli, Koppunoor, and Enmanabetta, in Jagitial district. During the event, he interacted with farmers to understand their concerns.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Jupalli emphasized that the government has set up a transparent procurement system to ensure farmers face no difficulties. He directed officials to procure both fine and coarse varieties of paddy even if the moisture content is up to 17 percent. The support price has been fixed at ₹2,389 per quintal for graded varieties and ₹2,369 for common varieties. Additionally, farmers selling fine variety paddy will receive a bonus of ₹500 per quintal.
The minister urged farmers to take full advantage of the government-run centers and avoid middlemen who may exploit them. Special arrangements have been made in Kollapur constituency to carry out paddy procurement through women’s federations, he added.
Officials have been instructed to ensure smooth operations at the centers. Farmers will receive receipts based on the weight of paddy immediately upon delivery. Subsequent processes such as transport, storage, and processing will be handled entirely by the government, ensuring farmers get timely payments at the correct support price.
