Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy has urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to take steps to expedite the completion of the pending service road works beneath the Amberpet flyover. He wrote a letter to the Chief Minister in this regard on Friday.

To ease traffic congestion on National Highway-163 at Amberpet Cross Roads, a four-lane flyover of 1.5 kilometres was constructed under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The flyover, built at a cost of ₹265 crore, was inaugurated on May 5, 2025, by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari .

However, despite the inauguration of the flyover, the service road that has to be built beneath it is yet to be completed, Kishan Reddy stated in his letter. He noted that the works have been stalled due to the delay in the land acquisition process. As a result, motorists travelling through the Amberpet area are facing difficulties.

Kishan Reddy said he had already discussed the issue with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner. He also mentioned that despite repeatedly requesting both former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and the present Chief Minister Revanth Reddy , the land acquisition process remains pending.

He pointed out that the Amberpet stretch is one of the key traffic corridors in the city and witnesses heavy vehicular movement every day. Therefore, he urged the Chief Minister to instruct the concerned officials to resolve the pending land acquisition issues at the earliest and complete the construction of the service road beneath the flyover.
