Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘Reality’ Set for Christmas Release Amid Star-Studded Clash
Kiran Abbavaram’s upcoming film, ‘Reality’, has officially been unveiled as his directorial debut and is set to hit theatres worldwide on December 25, 2026, during the Christmas holiday season. Earlier referred to as #KA13, the film marks Abbavaram’s 13th outing as a lead actor and sees him take on multiple responsibilities as writer, director and protagonist.
The newly released title glimpse gives audiences a closer look at the film’s world and introduces Abbavaram as Anandam, an earnest young man who manages a hotel and places his family above everything else. According to the glimpse, Anandam finds his greatest happiness in clearing his family’s debts, giving the story a relatable middle-class emotional backdrop. Everyday family moments, including a sequence involving making appadams on a terrace, further highlight the film’s focus on relationships and simple joys.
The film stars Devika Bhat as the female lead, marking her Telugu debut. Veteran actors Sharat Kumar, Sai Kumar, Rohini and Annapurnamma, along with Sudharshan, are also part of the cast. The project carries the tagline ‘Ek Dum Bindass Pakaane Waale’, reflecting its distinctive food-related theme.
Sudhakar Chaganti is producing the film under the Joy Films banner, with Suresh Yerra serving as co-producer. The technical team includes Bheems Ceciroleo as music director and Viswas Daniel as cinematographer, while Sudheer Macharla handles production design and Santhosh Naidu takes care of editing.
The film’s Machilipatnam schedule is nearing completion. Its December 25 release will put it in a competitive festive window, just a day after Balakrishna’s ‘Dada’ and Nagarjuna’s ‘King 100’, both scheduled for December 24. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ is also part of the Christmas-season competition, making the year-end box office particularly crowded.
