The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), the technical arm of the state’s General Education Department, will launch the fourth edition of its pioneering educational reality show Haritha Vidyalayam this December.

The initiative aims to highlight the achievements, innovations, and best practices of government and aided schools across Kerala, giving them a national platform to showcase excellence in education. Schools can apply by November 15, with separate categories for primary and high school/higher secondary institutions.

K Anvar Sadath, CEO of KITE, said schools will be shortlisted based on parameters such as academic and co-curricular performance, infrastructure, digital integration, community participation, and unique initiatives. “The objective is to recognise creative and exemplary efforts by schools and share these models to uplift public education standards,” he said.

The show will also spotlight Kerala’s advancements in education ranging from AI and robotics-based learning to upgraded infrastructure and digital classrooms.

A total of 100 schools will be selected for the preliminary round, with each receiving up to Rs 20,000 for documentation and travel expenses. The episodes will be aired on the KITE VICTERS educational channel from late December.

Special awards will be given to the top 10 schools in the final round, culminating in a grand finale in February 2026. Previous editions of Haritha Vidyalayam were held in 2010, 2017, and 2022, with strong participation and recognition across the state.
