Kerala CM Satheesan Retains Finance, Law Governor Approves Portfolio List

The Governor has approved the portfolio allocation recommended by Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan for the newly sworn-in cabinet, formalising the distribution of key ministries among ministers, Lok Bhavan said on Wednesday.

As per the allocation, the Chief Minister himself will handle a wide set of important departments, including Finance, Law, General Administration and Ports , along with several other portfolios covering around 35 departments.

The crucial Home portfolio , along with Vigilance and allied responsibilities, has been assigned to senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, placing him in charge of internal security, policing and enforcement mechanisms in the state.

IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty will oversee major economic and technology-related departments, including Industries, Commerce, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Startups, Mining and Geology, and Handlooms and Textiles , giving him charge of key development sectors.

KPCC chief Sunny Joseph has been given Electricity, Environment and Parliamentary Affairs , while senior leader K Muraleedharan will handle a set of seven departments, including Health, Devaswoms, Food Safety and Medical Education .

Other key allocations include Roji M John being entrusted with Higher Education , A P Anil Kumar taking charge of Land and Revenue , and N Shamsudheen serving as General Education Minister .

RSP MLA Shibu Baby John has been allotted Forests and Wildlife Protection and Skill Development , while Kerala Congress (Joseph) leader Mon Joseph will oversee Irrigation, Ground Water, Water Supply and Sanitation, and Housing .

The approval completes the formal cabinet structure, defining administrative responsibilities across key governance and development sectors in Kerala.
