Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that a "well-known personality" will join him at the party's National Town Hall Against E20 in New Delhi on Saturday, where citizens will be invited to voice their concerns over the Centre's ethanol-blended fuel policy.

In a post on X, Kejriwal said the prominent individual would participate in the discussion, hear public grievances, and take part in deliberations on the E20 fuel issue. However, he did not reveal the identity of the guest, adding to anticipation ahead of the event.

The town hall is scheduled to be held at the Constitution Club of India on August 1, and is expected to bring together vehicle owners, industry experts, and members of the public. Kejriwal also appealed to people to attend the event in large numbers and share their experiences with E20 petrol.

The AAP has intensified its campaign against the rollout of 20 per cent ethanol-blended petrol (E20), arguing that it has adversely affected many vehicle owners. According to the party, the town hall aims to create public awareness about the issue while building pressure on the Central government to reconsider its policy and withdraw mandatory E20 fuel.

Earlier, while announcing the event, Kejriwal had said that experts, automobile users who have allegedly faced problems due to E20 fuel, and other stakeholders were being invited to participate in an open discussion. He maintained that the platform would help gather feedback and formulate a collective response to the policy.

As part of its campaign, the AAP has also launched an online petition demanding that E20 fuel be made optional rather than mandatory. The party claimed that the petition has already received nearly two lakh signatures, reflecting what it described as growing public concern over the impact of ethanol-blended fuel on vehicles.

The town hall is expected to serve as the party's latest effort to mobilise public opinion on the issue and press for changes to the Centre's fuel policy.
