KCR Ends Silence, Slams Government Incompetence Over Palamuru Lift Irrigation

Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, calling its two-year rule a complete failure. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, KCR accused the government of ignoring public issues and focusing mainly on real estate deals.

“Is the Congress government only concerned with real estate? Don’t they care about people’s problems?” KCR asked, adding that the BRS party’s approach will now change. “We have been patient for two years… but our patience has run out,” he warned.

KCR highlighted the failures of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project, accusing the Congress government of neglecting state interests. He noted that the BRS government had prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) with all necessary approvals, but after Congress came to power, the BJP-led central government sent it back. Despite this, the Congress government has remained silent and failed to protect the state’s water rights. KCR described Congress as a “helpless” administration in this matter.

Expressing concern over potential losses to Telangana from Krishna and Godavari rivers, KCR said he would personally take the lead in protecting the state’s water. “We will wake up the people and fight against water exploitation,” he declared.

KCR also criticized the Congress government for the problems faced by farmers, especially regarding urea supply. He recalled that farmers had to stand in long queues under Congress rule, a situation that disappeared under BRS, only to return after Congress regained power. “Why an app to distribute urea? Doesn’t this government even have the basic capability?” he questioned, accusing the current administration of failing to implement a single new policy in two years.

Highlighting law and order issues, KCR said crime rates have surged, including murders in twin cities and increased assaults across the state. He accused Congress of misleading people with false promises before elections, saying that recent panchayat election results reflect public discontent. KCR expressed confidence that BRS would regain power with public support.

KCR announced that BRS will organize large public gatherings in districts such as Palamuru, Rangareddy, and Nalgonda to expose Congress’s failures. He emphasized that the party would fight against Congress attempts to undermine irrigation projects built over the past decade.
