KCR Consoles Family of Former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy

BRS president and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Sunday visited the family of former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, who recently died after a prolonged illness, and offered his condolences.

KCR travelled to Nallabelli in Warangal district to attend Sudarshan Reddy’s 10th-day memorial ceremony. He first paid floral tributes to the former legislator’s portrait and later met his family members, offering them comfort and assuring them that they would not be left alone during the difficult period.

KCR said the BRS would continue to stand by the Peddi family and extend all possible support. Several senior party leaders and elected representatives also visited the family and conveyed their condolences.

KCR’s visit drew a large gathering of BRS leaders, workers and supporters in Nallabelli. With a huge crowd assembling near Sudarshan Reddy’s residence, minor pushing and jostling was reported. Party workers and supporters also welcomed KCR at several locations on his way to Narsampet.

The BRS had earlier announced a financial assistance package of Rs 2.25 crore for Sudarshan Reddy’s family. During Sunday’s visit, KCR formally handed over the Rs 2.25-crore cheque to the bereaved family.

The party also decided to deposit Rs 25 lakh in a bank account for Amruthamma, Sudarshan Reddy’s mother, towards her welfare and financial security. KCR further assured the family that the party would keep a close watch on the education, welfare and future of Sudarshan Reddy’s children and extend support whenever necessary.

Following the memorial programme, KCR left Nallabelli and proceeded to his Erravalli farmhouse in Siddipet district. Senior BRS leaders and public representatives accompanied him during the visit.
