Amitabh Bachchan is returning with Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 on August 10, and the premiere will have a special Bollywood line-up. Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta and Sunny Deol will join Bachchan for the opening episode as they promote their upcoming film Batwara 1947.

The new season will premiere at 9 pm on August 10 on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. This time, contestants will have a chance to play for a ₹7 crore top prize.

Sunny Deol’s appearance is also special as it marks his KBC debut. The actor, along with Aamir and Preity, is seen sharing the hot seat with Amitabh in a new promo. The three stars are currently promoting Batwara 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition and is scheduled to hit theatres on August 14.

The premiere also introduces the season’s new theme, “Sochna Padega”. The idea is to move beyond simply remembering facts. Contestants will be expected to use what they know, understand the question and then arrive at the answer. The campaign also points to a time when information is easily available on phones and online, making the ability to think and apply knowledge more important.

In the promo, Aamir questions Amitabh about the new theme. Sunny also joins the conversation. Amitabh responds with his trademark wit and warns that things will not be as easy this season.

Batwara 1947 brings together Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta again, with Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh also part of the cast. Aamir Khan is producing the film, while Santoshi is directing it.

With Bachchan back as host, a ₹7 crore jackpot and three major film stars on the opening episode, KBC 18 is set for a big start.
