Kavitha to Launch New Telangana Party on April 25
In a significant development in Telangana politics, Kalvakuntla Kavitha , daughter of BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao and president of Telangana Jagruthi , has officially announced the launch of a new political party .
Addressing the media in Nizamabad on Friday, she stated that the party will be launched on April 25 . The party name and flag will be unveiled at a mass public meeting scheduled at Munirabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad at 10:00 AM .
Kavitha strongly criticised the neglect of state issues by major political parties, particularly highlighting the challenges faced by farmers and the lack of attention to problems of the common people . She said a new political force is necessary to achieve ‘Sarvodaya Telangana’ , adding that the party will work with a clear focus on Telangana-specific issues .
Responding to a question on inviting national leaders to the launch, she clarified that it would be a purely Telangana-based regional party . “ 95% of our focus will be on Telangana-related issues. A separate national committee will handle matters concerning the rest of the country, ” she said.
She emphasised that her party is not a ‘B-team’ of any other political formation and aims to emerge as a major political force in Telangana . Kavitha also stated that the party will give high priority to women and youth , urging women, who have long witnessed male-led parties, to now support her initiative.
Criticising the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) , she remarked that its focus on Telangana declined after it ventured into national politics. “At present, there is no strong regional party in the state. Our ‘Jagruthi’ will become a party for every household,” she asserted.
Kavitha added that BRS cadre are with her and reiterated her commitment to farmer welfare and the overall development of Telangana . Her announcement is expected to trigger new political alignments in the state.
