Kavitha to Launch New Political Party on April 25, Targets Congress and BRS

Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday sharpened her political attack on both the Congress government and the BRS , while announcing the launch of a new political party on April 25. Addressing the media in Hyderabad, she positioned her upcoming platform as a people-centric alternative , arguing that existing parties have become disconnected from public concerns. Her move is being seen as a significant development in Telangana politics, potentially creating a third political force ahead of future elections.

Kavitha accused the BRS leadership of failing to undertake introspection after its electoral defeat and continuing with the same political approach. She criticized the induction of senior leader Jeevan Reddy , questioning the portrayal of veteran leaders as youth while unemployed youth in the state continue to struggle. She also flagged the party’s silence on key national issues like the Women’s Reservation Bill and delimitation , suggesting that such positions reflect political calculations rather than public interest.

Turning to the ruling Congress, Kavitha alleged governance failures , pointing to delays in schemes like Rythu Bharosa , the absence of a clear job calendar , and lack of employment generation. She criticized demolition drives affecting the poor and accused the government of neglecting farmer welfare. She further raised concerns over Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s remarks on the Kaleshwaram project case , calling them an attempt to influence judicial processes and terming it unconstitutional .

Highlighting broader democratic concerns, Kavitha said attempts to weaken political opposition undermine the spirit of democracy, asserting that people alone decide who governs. She also extended support to RTC workers , accusing the government of neglect and warning against privatization of public transport services. Reiterating her commitment, she said her new party would focus on youth representation , women leadership , and inclusive governance , aiming to reshape the political narrative in Telangana.
