Telangana Jagruthi president and MLC K. Kavitha received a grand welcome in Adilabad as part of her Jagruthi Jana Bata program. Tribal artists performed traditional Gusadi dances, and local Telangana Jagruthi leaders joined in the celebrations.

During her visit, Kavitha inspected the Chanaka-Korata irrigation project and strongly criticized the Congress government for the delay in completing the remaining works. She said that despite the project being nearly 90% complete during the previous government’s tenure, the current Congress administration has failed to finish even the remaining 10% in the past two years.

Expressing serious concern, Kavitha said the incomplete works have caused water stagnation in the canals dug for the project, leading to overflow and damage to farmers’ crops in several areas. She blamed government negligence for the losses farmers are facing and warned that such delays are directly impacting their livelihoods.

She also highlighted the plight of 213 displaced families from Korata village who are still waiting for their compensation and rehabilitation packages. Kavitha demanded that the government resolve their issues without further delay.

Kavitha emphasized that only by completing the project can Adilabad’s farmers receive assured irrigation water. She urged the state government to act swiftly, finish the pending work, and ensure justice for the displaced people.

Calling the Chanaka-Korata project crucial for the district’s agricultural growth and economic development, she warned that continued neglect would hurt the future of local communities.

Kavitha also criticized both Congress and BJP MPs, saying that despite having several representatives from both parties, none have taken serious interest in addressing farmers’ problems.
