Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president Kavitha Kalvakuntla said her newly formed party was committed to protecting Telangana’s identity and building a welfare-focused political alternative centred around the poor, farmers and youth.

Addressing the Paanchajanya Sankalpa Sabha in Korutla, Jagitial district , Kavitha outlined her party’s five-point agenda free education, free healthcare, youth empowerment, farmer welfare and social justice . She said the initiative was inspired by the spirit of the “Paanchajanya”, symbolising the fight against injustice.

The meeting also witnessed the joining of senior BJP leader Dr Raghav and his supporters into Telangana Rakshana Sena. Welcoming the development, Kavitha said his entry had given the party additional strength in the Korutla region.

Kavitha said she had worked for nearly 20 years with dedication for the party she earlier represented but was pushed out after raising questions over alleged corruption and highlighting issues faced by backward communities. She said the formation of Telangana Rakshana Sena was driven by her desire to improve the lives of ordinary citizens and implement policies focused on public welfare.

Explaining her party’s proposed programmes, Kavitha promised that the government would fully bear the education expenses of poor students studying in private schools. She also assured unlimited free healthcare in private hospitals , saying the required funds could be generated by eliminating corruption and ensuring efficient governance.

For youth, she announced plans to provide loans ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹20 crore without guarantees to encourage entrepreneurship and help create businesses capable of competing with global firms. She also proposed special counters in government offices to address farmers’ issues.

Criticising the Congress government , Kavitha alleged that the promised farm loan waiver had not reached even half of the beneficiaries. She demanded 50 per cent reservations for BC communities , free bus travel for persons with disabilities, better representation for Lambada communities in the Cabinet, and separate welfare wings for Christian and Muslim minorities.

Kavitha accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government of failing to prepare for climate-related challenges despite warnings about a possible “Super El Nino”. She claimed rainfall deficiency had affected farming and alleged that thousands of acres in Metpally and Korutla were suffering due to water shortages.

She also criticised the handling of the Kaleshwaram project , alleging that political disputes were preventing effective use of available irrigation resources.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Kavitha said she would never return to the BRS , asserting that Telangana Rakshana Sena would emerge as a strong force in future elections. She sought public support for the party’s flag featuring tangedu, pumpkin and gouramma flowers .
