Kash Patel And Alexis Wilkins Announce Engagement After More Than Three Years Together
FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins are engaged after more than three years together, with the couple announcing the news on social media on Sunday, October 4. Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photograph of herself with Patel, 46, while showing off her new engagement ring.
“Went and got the law involved,” Wilkins wrote on X, tagging Patel and adding engagement ring and heart emojis. Patel later reposted her announcement on his own account, responding with the same heart and ring emojis. The playful exchange appeared to be the couple’s public confirmation of their engagement announcement.
The announcement marks a new chapter in a relationship that has attracted considerable attention since Patel became one of the most prominent figures in the US government. The couple have been together since at least 2023, before Patel took over as FBI director in February 2025. Wilkins was present at Patel’s swearing-in ceremony when he formally became the bureau’s director.
Patel and Wilkins reportedly first met at a gathering in Nashville in 2022. According to reports, the event was hosted by country musician John Rich. The two subsequently went to dinner and began dating in early 2023. Wilkins later spoke about their first meeting during a 2025 appearance on 'The Megyn Kelly Show', saying they “just happened to meet” and praising Patel’s honesty, character and values.
Their relationship became increasingly public as Patel moved into the top FBI position. Wilkins has accompanied him at several major events and has been seen alongside him during important moments in his career. Patel has also publicly referred to Wilkins as his “partner in life”.
The engagement comes as both remain familiar figures in US political and cultural circles. Wilkins is a country singer and political commentator whose music and public appearances have included patriotic and politically themed performances. She was also among the performers at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall in 2026.
Patel, meanwhile, has remained a prominent figure since becoming FBI director. His relationship with Wilkins has received additional scrutiny because of questions surrounding government resources and security arrangements connected to some of her public appearances. Reports have previously detailed Patel’s use of an FBI aircraft for a trip to State College, Pennsylvania, where Wilkins performed the US national anthem at a professional wrestling event.
