For fans, the biggest attraction is Subbaraj’s first-ever collaboration with Ilaiyaraaja, whose contribution to Indian music spans more than five decades and over 1,500 film scores. Widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in Indian cinema, Ilaiyaraaja’s timeless melodies and background scores continue to influence generations of filmmakers and musicians.
The announcement sparked celebrations online, with fans sharing posters and artwork highlighting the long-awaited union. Many also pointed out that Subbaraj has often paid tribute to Ilaiyaraaja’s music in his films, incorporating the maestro’s iconic songs and references into several memorable scenes over the years.
