
Karnataka Leads National Panchayat Awards 2025, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Panchayats Also Honoured
The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj has announced the winners of the National Panchayat Awards 2025, recognising outstanding rural local bodies for achievements in governance, infrastructure, healthcare, women empowerment and sustainable development. Karnataka emerged among the top-performing states by securing six national awards under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP).
In Karnataka, Mudradi Gram Panchayat in Udupi district won first place in the Poverty-Free and Enhanced Livelihoods category with a ₹1 crore award. Vandse Gram Panchayat secured second place in the Healthy Panchayat category, while Madamakki Gram Panchayat earned second place in the Water-Sufficient Panchayat category. Sanoor Gram Panchayat received third place jointly for Self-Sufficient Infrastructure, and Hakladi Gram Panchayat secured third place jointly in the Socially Just and Socially Secured Panchayat category. Halanayakanahalli Gram Panchayat in Bengaluru Urban district won second place in the Child-Friendly Panchayat category.
Andhra Pradesh secured five awards. Srungavaram Gram Panchayat in Visakhapatnam district won first place in Good Governance, while Bokkasam Palem Gram Panchayat in Tirupati district topped the Women-Friendly Panchayat category. Chemmullapalli Gram Panchayat in Y.S.R. Kadapa district, Gundamala Gram Panchayat in Prakasam district and Kuppam Block Panchayat in Chittoor district also received national honours.
Meanwhile, Telangana won two awards, with Mothukupalle Gram Panchayat in Vikarabad district recognised for Good Governance and Fasalwadi Gram Panchayat in Sangareddy district honoured in the Women-Friendly Panchayat category.
The awards will be presented in New Delhi on June 3.
