Karnataka's political pulse was on full display on Thursday as voters across the Bagalkot and Davanagere South assembly constituencies cast their ballots in bypolls that carry significance well beyond their two-seat scope. Though the results are unlikely to immediately alter the state's political landscape, the contests are being viewed as a matter of prestige for both the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP .
