Kaplan, a global leader in international education, has announced the transformation of The University of Adelaide College into Kaplan International College Adelaide (KIC Adelaide). The shift follows the establishment of Adelaide University, formed through the merger of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, now positioned as a Group of Eight (Go8) institution.

The rebrand aims to address the steadily growing demand from Indian students seeking credible and affordable pathways into high-ranked global universities. With close to half of Indian applications to the world’s top 200 universities being rejected each year, pathway programs are increasingly becoming a vital route for access to world-class education.

At the heart of the upgrade is the Extended Preparation Program (EPP), a shorter alternative to traditional foundation programs that allows students to save both time and tuition costs. KIC Adelaide will also continue offering its Foundation Studies, Degree Transfer and Pre-Master’s Programs, all integrated with English for Academic Purposes (EAP) support for a seamless transition into undergraduate and postgraduate study at Adelaide University.

The college is set to expand opportunities in STEM and Allied Health disciplines, areas witnessing strong interest from Indian students. Kaplan reports that more than 90 percent of its pathway students successfully progress into master's programs at Adelaide University, which debuted at #82 in the 2026 QS World University Rankings.

Kaplan’s career-focused model remains central to the relaunch. Employability Week, volunteering programs, business visits and the Kaplan Graduate Success Skills framework will help students build workplace-ready capabilities. Additional student support includes counsellors, 24/7 wellbeing services and tailored transition assistance.

To ease affordability concerns, Kaplan has announced launch scholarships, stackable financial discounts, up to 10 weeks of free English support for eligible applicants and a fee freeze for 2026. The majority of programs are also expected to be exempt from Australia’s National Provider Limit policy from 2026, providing more certainty for international students choosing Australia as a destination.
